CPS Teacher Killed On South Side

Chatham, Chicago, Ill. —

A Chicago Public Schools teacher was shot and killed on the South Side Sunday night.

Erika Prince, 32, of 7438 S. Eberhart Ave., was shot in the head at 8745 S. Euclid Ave., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. She was pronounced dead at 8:10 p.m.

Chicago Public Schools Spokesman Mike Vaughn has confirmed that Prince was a Chicago Public School teacher and taught for the last six years at Arthur Dixon Elementary School at 8306 S. St. Lawrence Av. in Chicago's Chatham neighborhood.

Prince taught special education students and also ran many clubs at the school. She was also an alumnus of the school and has a on the honor roll in 6th grade at Dixon.
