Comics, swords and stuff at Wizard World

Despite lacking many major names this year, including Marvel and DC, the vendors at Comic-con were still in full force. Each year I am not only amazed by how many are selling comics, but also how many are not selling your basic comic store paraphernalia. Even then there is competition for vendors to get as much money out of the visitors in three days as possible. So some booths go the extra distance and make themselves stand out among the aisles of cardboard boxes and blue curtains.

Some vendors also end up being entirely unique and fill a niche need. Some others offer one item many other booths may have, but offer only that item and in such a large variety and quantity that it blows away any possible competition.

There is one other thing that is sold there en masse that is unexpected — swords. One or two vendors I guess should be expected, but there are a lot more than that. Most of these swords are replicas and more for looks than anything. But when would you need a battle ready katana these days?
