Cubsoleums, Polka, The Windy on TV and Chicago responds to Jesse Jackson and the iPhone

This week was a busy one for The Windy Citizen. From television appearances to mausoleums, we've been all over the place these last five days. And now that there's finally a chance to breathe, there's also a chance to remind our dear readers of what's going on in our fair city.

Jon Rubin reported some interesting Cubs news this week when he found out about a Cubs-themed mausoleum. I'm not even going to try and explain this one; you'll have to read about it yourself.

Maude Standish reported a new development on Thursday regarding the Old Town School of Folk & Roots Festival. If you somehow guessed that the event will include a dance tent, offering lessons in West African and Chicago-style polka dancing, then congratulations (I didn't even know Chicago had its own brand of Polka). Apparently, Chicago-style is faster and hoppier than traditional polka, though I couldn't begin to describe how that might actually look. You'll have to go see it for yourself.

The Windy Citizen's founder Brad Flora was on television earlier this week, giving Chicago Tonight his two cents on whether or not Chicago's in its Golden Age. Then he went further and wrote a post on reasons why Chicago's NOT on a roll. And it's all right here.

I'm sure everyone has heard by now about Jesse Jackson's comments. Yes, those comments. Maude Standish found some time this week to get some responses from some Chicagoans here.

And of course, this wouldn't be an authentic wrap-up of the week without a mention of today's iPhone release. Felicia Daniels reported on the interest the phone has received from just about everyone, even foreigners!
