The parking lot to Toyota Park opened at 9a.m. in preparation for the parrot head and land shark invasion, allowing Jimmy Buffett fans eleven hours to tailgate before the show kicked off.

At 9:30 a.m. the parking lot was pretty empty…

However as the day went on it was packed with cars bumper to bumper as far as the eye could see.

Sounds of tropical music, bright decorations, fruity drinks and inflatable pools transformed the parking lot into a tropical paradise.

No two tailgate setups are exactly the same, but no matter what they always include vast amounts of food, alcohol, and various games in which everyone is a winner.

Pirate Punch for all the pirates, two hundred years too late.

Highlights from this year's tailgate:

Everywhere you go, someone is making drinks, cooking food and of course, as it is custom of Buffett tailgates, offering it to everyone who passes by.As you meander through the rows of cars, fans wearing their finest Buffett attire greet you…

These dedicated fans stayed up until 2 the night before to finish their drinking hats for Buffett

No outfit is ever considered too strange or too tacky...

Hardcore Buffett fans show their pride on their skin.

After a long day of tailgating, some fans end up wasted away again in Margaritaville or a puddle.

This fan forgot that at a Buffett event one should always be on the look out for fins on the left and fins on the right because there circling and swimming around.

Shark Attack!

For some fans, once a year is just not enough.
