Tamale Chica is an ageless, complicated girl who lives simply, or is it the other way around? I'm a lifelong Chicago girl. I grew up on the north side in a neighborhood that went from working class to "rough, very rough." I love the city, the diversity of people, food, food, ethnic subcultures, culture, food, art, theatre, food, architecture, activities, and did I mention, food?
Professionally I'm in the area of strategic marketing communications, specifically cultural marketing, SEO, online and new media. Staying in grad school far too long, I ended up with an MBA in E-Commerce Strategy and an MSIMC because I just couldn't get enough marketing coursework.
I've lived in Lake View along the lake (I still miss having the park as my backyard!), Andersonville, around Oz Park, the Wrigley Field neighborhood, and I currently reside in Lincoln Square. If Whole Foods ever opened in Pilsen I'd have no problem moving down there (dietary issues keep me tied for access reasons), since it's my favorite neighborhood, unless a car appears in my life.
