Good afternoon, everyone. Anyway, I don't know what happened because I haven't been listening to Zone 12 (25th district), but there was an incident on Springfield somewhere. I'm thinking it's most likely in our neighborhood or at least in the coverage area because Beat car 2546 was on this incident, and he works the 20 sector (which covers the western end of Avondale and Logan Square). The only information I have is that he wasn't sure if was bona fide or not. Ambulance 48 was taking the vitcim to Our Lady of Resurrection (Addison and Central). He said he'll let dispatch know of the details. I'm waiting to see where on Springfield this happened at. I'll keep everyone posted.
4:08PM - This appears to be a stabbing. Still no address. Anyway, it's gang related (go figure). The guy was stabbed in the chest. Looks like I'll have to listen to the 911 tapes for 25 to see where exactly on Springfield this happened at. The vitcim says he was in an argument with two other guys, then he turned around and was stabbed. The vitcim will be ok.
4:52PM - Beat 1634 was just assigned to the paper over at OLR. I wonder why 2546 isn't handling it?
5:03PM - Beat car 1634 is coding their end of the job 19P. 2546 already did a report. The number is HR425159.
5:04PM - They're running the vitcim's name at the hospital.
5:05PM - The stabbing did occurr in our neighborhood. 2900 block of N Springfield to be exact. Vitcim was attacked while going to the store.
5:06PM - The vitcim has a warrant.
5:12PM - Beat 1610 is being requested to head over to OLR regarding this.
5:17PM - I finally found the 911 call. The address was 2939 N Springfield. The call came out at 3:46pm (15:46 hours). The ticket said a 23 yr old was stabbed in the chest by a male Hispanic with a baby blue hat, dark shirt and shorts. The offender fled towards George.
5:40PM - Beat car 1610 is requesting a car at the hospital regarding this incident. I think it may to be either take the vitcim to the station or to have him guarded.
6:31PM - Tests are being ran on the vitcim, according to 1610.
8:41PM - Officers are talking about this over the radio.
4:50PM, 7/13/09 - I just wanted to know, but how do you guys feel about this happening? If any of you live in that area, what went down?
