About this blog

Hey we’re 10 years without an all-star and the best part of the season is the end of the season when the 2010 free agency spree begins. But in between, we’ll have a lot of fun. Derrick Rose may ascend to stardom; Aaron Gray may get that Vitamin Water contract he was seeking and Vinny DelNegro will get Kirk Hinrich’s name right.

Michael Jordan: Hall of Famer

Michael JordanSurprise, surprise: Michael Jordan was elected into the 2009 Hall of Fame today in his first year of eligibility.

Joining His Airness are David Robinson, John Stockton, Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan and Rutgers women's basketball coach C. Vivian Stringer.

The official induction will happen on Sept. 10-12, at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass.

While Johnny "Red" Kerr was left out this year, along with Bernard King, Chris Mullin and Don Nelson, among others, the five selected are hard to argue against.

Will anyone ever come close to touching Jordan in our lifetime? Though many have tried to argue that Kobe Bryant is close it's quite easy to poke holes through that proposition.

I'll reserve my judgment until after I see how LeBron James finishes out his career.

What say you?

(Neat story about comparing this year's Hall of Fame candidates with today's stars.)
