Daily Distraction: Puppy Cam

If you want your friends to look at something, just post a link on your gchat away message. That is how I got sucked into staring at puppies for half an hour.

Free live streaming by Ustream

I am hesitant to call this a viral video for two reasons. First, that term was invented by a marketing hack somewhere and now my grandmother uses it. The term "viral video" ranks right up there with "bling bling" and "cyberspace." Second this doesn't really follow the same format as chocolate rain or dramatic chipmunk. Puppy cam is a live stream of Shiba Inu puppies that starts broadcasting at 9:30 am. There are 3 pups of each gender and they are about 6 weeks old. They wear different color collars and you can get the whole roster here. Just know that Akoni in the black is a badass and rules the kennel. If he could talk he would sound exactly like Jules Winnfield.

WOOF!

I am not going to lie, it isn't action packed and this isn't a Stephen Hawking lecture. They spend most of their time sleeping and shifting around to do more sleeping. However, there is a rare moment or two when they go puppy crazy and things get nuts. If you are the impatient type, or don't want to be caught gawking at puppies for extended periods of time there are some highlight clips.

So if you are looking for a slice of internet that is so sugar sweet it might give you cavities, check out puppy cam. While you are there you can check out the rest of Ustream.tv's offerings.

PS: I am going to start calling this a "strep stream." Yeah it's a play on words.

thank goodness for Puppy Cam!!! I have multiple sclerosis, lost my job, and my home is going into foreclosure; but to be able to go online and see these little guys is FANTASTIC!!! What a wonderful way to forget the mess the world is in right now, and just enjoy the PUPPY PLAY :)

This kind of stuff keeps a person on your site for a while. Gives me a few idea's. Wonder what other video's UStream has on their site.

Puppycam- the new Rick Roll?

HAHA No kidding - let's get a new meme going....

Who started this by the way? For me personally it was blasted RedEye via Twitter. But clearly this hole goes much deeper.

Blake, man, the post is fantastic. I can't stop laughing. Please please come out tonight to the Billy Goat.

Grrrfff....Andy posted this one ;-)

We'll see about tonight. I'm not 100% sure.

Of course props to Andy too :-)

Love it, love it, love it. Now we're trying to create the Lucy and Pantoufle stream...not as cute as the pups...they're old dogs. Andy...you meant to say your MOTHER uses viral video. I make no apologies for being a marketing hack. It sent a couple of kids through college (as well as myself).

Everyone in Andy's office has been smiling all day looking at these cute little puppies napping - how could you not look at them and smile - even if you are having a bad day. Great idea!! I keep popping them up on my computer screen every now and then just to check and see if they might wake up! :-)
