WindyCitizen.com Fund Drive raises $1087 from readers supporting social, local news

The Windy Citizen’s first- and only-ever fund drive was a huge success, raising $1087 from members, twitter followers and well-wishers in only 10 days. Some chipped in $5 or less. Some contributed upwards of $100. The most common contribution was exactly $20.

All week long, it was incredible to watch people tweeting and retweeting the link to our micropatron page. We had more than a few people contributing, then telling their followers they should as well. It was both humbling and exciting to see.

Thank you to all who became Windy Citizen micropatrons. Your contributions tell me that we're on to something here and will help us push ahead this summer as we work with local businesses and non-profits to roll out our sponsored news program. Through this program, we will feature the latest news or upcoming events from sponsors prominently on the Citizen’s front page and story pages.

As promised, Windy Citizen micropatrons who include a hyperlink along with their contribution will be listed in this post from now on. Anytime someone else sends money our way and includes a non-spammy link with their donation, they will be included in the list below.
